32bit later...

Today all the infrastructure have been migrated to 64bit architecture system. While most people wont notice this change, the impact is quite important and exiting. Basically, it mean that those new system are able to handle more data (64bit) then before (32bit).

  • Some programs such as data encryption software can benefit greatly from this and effectively execute 3 to 5 times faster.
  • More memory can be use by the system (more then 4GB).

A New Production Server

The main production server, has been upgraded to a 64bit XEON quad core processor with ~1TB of usable space on a high-performance-high-reliability hard drive controller. And if that was not enough, the server is ready for a second quad core processor and up to 64GB of memory.
